Jaguars get first win of the season

The Jaguars were away at Heigham Park today on a lovely warm morning. Games with Heigham Park are always close and so we had hoped today would be the day to get our first league points….and we did with a cracking 3-2 win.

We welcomed Bonnie today who was making her Jaguars debut and settled in so well. It was an exciting start with HP scoring first but it was offside…phew!!. It was just what we needed with some good midfield work to get the ball forward for Sophie to pounce on and launch it in , 1-0 to Jaguars.

The Jags defence then stayed strong with pressure from HP but again we pushed forward and on 22mins we doubled the lead. More pressure followed with a great Effort from Frankie blocked and Evie making a fab save to tip it past the top-right corner. Half-Time 2-0.

The Jags could sense another goal and with Isla now pushing forward was unlucky after a run down the wing. But it was a great assist from Pippa that put Sophie through to shoot over the keeper and claim her Hat-trick!! HP then pushed forward with all the girls defending so well from several corners and Grace being wacked by a strong HP shot but keeping that ball out!!

HP made it a nervy ending by scoring twice in the last 10 minutes but the Jaguars held out for their first win of the season.

After a tough few games to start the season it’s great for them to get a win to reward all the hard work they put in.

Coaches PotM : Alexa - Great defending and could see she was using what we did in training to win those 1:1’s. Well done Alexa.

Well done Michael for running the Line for first time - even watching a quick video before we started and did a briliant job - thanks so much!!
