Jets beat Horsford in the Cup

The Jets went to Horsford on a blustery day for the first cup game of the season - they’ve split us into two groups of five teams from the round of friendlies, and both the Jets and the Cool Cats are in the top group!

Today’s opponents, Horsford, are a good side, but the Jets really brought their A game in a really convincing 8-1 win!

We lined up with Peyton in goal, Amelia in defence and with Felicity, Luna and Harper as our offensive players (Poppy, Belle and Nancy were our game changers on the bench). We quickly took the lead with a good finish from Luna, and Harper added the second before Horsford pulled one back. We added three more before half time with Belle grabbing two and Poppy netting also.

In the second half, we scored through Harper's second of the game, before Horsford used the mercy rule to put an extra girl on the pitch, but we extended our lead further through Poppy and Belle’s hat trick goal.

Opposition player was Nancy who was absolutely everywhere and oh so close to scoring her first goal!

Parents player was Peyton who focused really well despite being frozen with most of the action at the other end - and made one particularly good save preventing the ball from crossing the line!

Coaches player was Amelia who defended really well as always, and always looked to pass the ball constructively 

Overall a superb result and a great start to the cup group games!
