Plate Final

On a very warm and pleasant day the ladies arrived in style, into Aylsham at midday on board the Bure Valley Railway train.
We then walked along Marriott's Way to Aylsham's Young's Park ground.

We kicked off but Vikings started the better team. Good defending by our central defenders Abbie and Jasmin keeping the dangerous Vikings striker quiet.
In the fourteenth minute we nearly took the lead when a long shot from Lily almost went past the Vikings goalie.
Two minutes later, and the dangerous VIKINGS striker got in enough space, to fire in a blistering drive which beat Didi's full length dive. One nil Vikings.
Just past the half hour mark and a Vikings player had a header go wide from a corner.
We came close to an equaliser a couple of minutes later. A pint point corner finding Megs. Her header being cleared off the line.
The next bit of action saw Didi make a comfortable save.
Just before half time Emily had a shot saved and Maisie R passed to Emma whose shot just cleared the bar.

The second half was five minutes old  when Megs had a half chance. Her shot going wide of the near post.
Seventy three minutes were on the clock when we got a deserved equaliser. Good play from Emma saw her pass the ball to WILLOW who scored with a shot from the edge of the box.
Four minutes from time and the dangerous Vikings striker hit a scorching shot just over the bar.

Extra Time
Now at this point I had already had to go to catch the bus home, so the next bit is sketchy. In the ninety eighth minute VIKINGS scored again to make it two one Vikings.
Then the VIKINGS were awarded a penalty which they scored to make it three one.

In my opinion the ladies played very well against a team containing players from a level two steps higher than them. Better luck next time. Also I take full responsibility for the loss. I forgot to hand out the Skittles at half time. An elementary mistake on my part. It was very nice to see our ex player Molly who has been injured all season before the game. Get well soon Molly. I also hope that Maddie's injury isn't too bad, and that she can play on Wednesday. Also a mighty thank you to all our wonderful mascots. Hope you had a great time and that Ted gave you your sweets. Also thank you to everyone who came out and supported the women, it was very much appreciated.
