Wolves win against Wymondham
A great result for the U13 Wolves today as we beat Wymondham 1-0. They beat us twice last season as we finished third, so it was nice to finally get the better of them!
We started with Leia, Anya, India, Emily, Paige, Billi, Katie, Poppy and Rose, with Phoebe and Malaika on the bench.
Paige and Phoebe were both struggling with colds, so alternated, and Malaika had to get fresh boots after splitting hers playing for the Lightnings earlier.
We played really really well today, full credit to Wymondham's keeper who was superb and stopped almost everything that was thrown at her. Defensively we were excellent and kept their star striker quiet, the midfield worked really hard and played some lovely passes, and the forwards were a constant threat, with Rose in particular hitting the bar twice and having about 8 other shots saved or go wide.
Malaika the striker scored the only goal with a powerful drive being the only thing the keeper couldn’t hold all day - a well deserved impact from a fabulous player.
Opposition player was Rose who worked really hard, and drove into space on the right at every opportunity
Parents player was Emily who has been working hard to be more proactive, and continues to improve
Coaches player was Billi who worked really hard as always and is really now getting the hang of central midfield!
Credit to Wymondham, they were a lovely group of girls - and credit to our fantastic referee James as well!
Lots to build on from today, if we keep playing that way we will do well.
